West Yorkshire Grants (a Joint Committee of Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds and Wakefield Councils)

This funding allows us to provide subsidised training and support for smaller voluntary, community and faith organisations across West Yorkshire. This funding terminates March 2012

Big Lottery

BASIS 2 Community Cascade

This project provides training and support for Community Anchors (local community buildings or partnerships where several groups work together) on Fundraising, Community Cohesion, Environment issues and Marketing
We also work in partnership with other organisations to support their provision through BASIS 1 projects.

We host other funding websites to which we link and share help and advice pages www.fundsinleeds.org.uk (funded by Leeds Council) and www.calderdale.fit4funding.org.uk (funded by Calderdale Council).

Partners

Fit4funding is represented on a number of groups and works with:

  • West Yorkshire Local Development Agencies (WYLDA) - the infrastructure consortium for West Yorkshire.
  • West Yorkshire Community Accounting Service (WYCAS) - joint projects/delivery over several years.
  • Pay and Employment Rights Service (PERS) - Joint planning around training delivery.
  • Bradford CVS, Voluntary Action Calderdale, Keighley and Ilkley Voluntary Action, CVS, Shipley and Bingley CVS, Voluntary Action Kirklees, Voluntary Action Leeds and Voluntary Action Wakefield District - Joint delivery and promotion of training activity.
  • CoEMO - Lead for Improving Reach (BME Networks); delivery of training around funding issues
  • Local Authorities - Bradford, Calderdale, Kirlees, Leeds, Wakefield of all five districts - commissioners of services for the VCS.
  • Association of West Yorkshire Authorities - links to sub-regional VCS strategy
  • Leads for YH Big Lottery projects in the other sub regions of Yorkshire and Humber (North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and The Humber) - we have common issues on service delivery in all these sub-regions and will maintain links in order to minimise duplication, share good practice and fill gaps.
  • Involve (formerly Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Forum) - bringing together sub-regional infrastructure plans at a regional level.
  • Community Foundations (Calderdale, Leeds, Wakefield) - local grant programmes, with outreach programmes in some cases. Joint delivery of information in some cases.
  • Rural Action Yorkshire and Bradford Environmental Action Trust - partnership delivery through Lottery projects
  • bfunded - a joint venture with Bradford CVS, Keighley VS and Bradford MDC to provide coordinated funding advice, training and support for funding advisors in Bradford
  • fundsinleeds - a joint venture with Leeds Community Foundation and providing a commissioning platform for Leeds Voice

Nationally, we work with:

  • South Yorkshire Funding Advice Bureau (SYFAB) - development of accredited training courses particularly on the use of the internet and web resources for supporting training
  • The Charities Information Bureau - South and West - providing training and other support to funding advisors in the South of England.
  • Funding Information North East (FINE)
  • The National Open College Network (NOCN) provides accreditation for courses provided by fit4funding and its partners.
