Health Strategy

In April 2008 Leeds PCT set out its 3 year Strategy 'For better health for all' describing how the organisation will move towards its vision; "To improve health and wellbeing, reduce inequalities and transform health services for the people of Leeds by working with others and being a leading edge organisation".

This document can be downloaded from: http://www.leedspct.nhs.uk/attachment/e7b2c3bb40c3f78be49766a9c0e35f6f/7b1795005ff073baba8a129045caa213/Leeds+PCT+Strategy+2008.pdf

The Any Willing Providers (AWP) process has been developed in line with the DH national guidance. Leeds PCT are using this model where services can be delivered by new and existing providers to the required quality standards and without commitment to volumes or guaranteed income levels.

The process is designed to establish whether or not a Provider meets the service specification. This process is not a tendering process, all providers meeting the specification will be approved. Willing Provider' status carries no commitment from Leeds PCT in terms of service activity volumes or financial commitment.

The policy document can be downloaded from http://tinyurl.com/yf63lwad(URL shortened using TinyURL)

Each service has a detailed specification which has been formally approved by the PCT. Specifications currently approved for AWP by Leeds PCT are listed below.
