Training for Funders and Grant Givers

Fit4funding offers training for those who give funds or commission services to the Voluntary and Community Sector.

"Good Practice in Grantmaking" is a two or three day course leading to a level 2 or level 3 qualification (3 credits) awarded by the Open College network. Participants will be required to present a portfolio of work to achieve the qualification. The two day course covers

  • understanding good practice
  • producing clear and fair criteria and guidelines
  • open, transparent and accessible processes
  • assessment processes
  • giving constructive feedback
  • effective monitoring and evaluation
  • risk management

 The optional third day covers 

  • planning a grant scheme
  • planning tools
  • involvement in the planning process
  • action planning
