Stage 2 - Training for more experienced fundraisers

Stage 2 Courses

Stage 2 is offered as a selection of half day and full day workshops. You can attend any workshop in any order and work towards a qualification in either of the following:

• Securing Funding for Community Projects
• Project Planning for Funding Bids

Accreditation

There are two qualifications available in Training for Groups Stage 2: Each qualification is at level 3 and has been developed by fit4funding and accredited (as 3 credits) by the Open College Network. A portfolio of work is required for each qualification showing how you have applied learning from the sessions to your own work.

Keeping Your Project Going

A half day workshop to look at reviewing a current project and considering how to secure ongoing funding

An Introduction to Marketing: Promoting Your Organisation to Funders and Other Supporters

A half day workshop which considers why marketing is relevant to voluntary and commiunity groups, the key principles of marketing and developing a marketing strategy.

Procurement and Commissioning

A half day workshop covering definitions and terminology, the pros and cons, how it works in practice and preparing for tendering.

Applying for Large Grants

A half day workshop aimed at groups who are considering applications to larger funders such as the Big Lottery Fund, larger trusts, European sources and Government funding streams. The session will focus on understanding funders' criteria, assessment and sustainability

Planning a Fundable Project

Poor planning is a major cause of applications being rejected by funders. This full day session provides an intensive, hands-on look at effective planning tools that can be used collaboratively within your group.

Business Planning

This full day introductory workshop is aimed at voluntary and community groups new to business planning. It will demonstrate why a business (or development) plan is essential for successful organisational development.

Accountability: Monitoring, Evaluation and Quality Assurance

A full day workshop to support groups that need quality systems to both meet their funders' requirements and to contribute to their continuous development.
